How would you sum up your
experience of the whole programme?
What is your appraisal/evaluation
of the trainers?

Abi NANCE It’s been everything that I could have hoped for and more. The course has been thoughtfully compiled, designed to give you a taste of everything while equipping you with valuable skills for coaching and life in general. The learning has been profound and rich and the teaching delivery experiential and easily digestible. Two very different styles but hugely valuable and complementary. Engaging, insightful, honest, present and rich. Both Colin and Phil bring themselves to the course in bucketloads. They are committed, passionate, present and real. Their love for what they do is infectious.

Brigitte NISIO Very strong piece of adult learning. I would recommend to any business professional who wants to become a professional coach. It delivers strong content, creates the right environment for learning, challenges in a positive manner and brings value. My fear of it being too “English” disappeared rapidly. Only observation: diversity of profiles very junior/senior, but you get used to it. Both of very high standards, ethical, respectful, supporting and focussed. My natural style resonated more with the soft structured way of Colin and I see the value of having both. I question the splitting the programme in two versus alternating sessions …food for thought.

Claudia ROTH It was a deep, rich, transformational learning experience. The programme is well structured to explore and shift thinking patterns and perspectives whilst run very professionally and ethically. Both trainers bring a wealth of experience. The real benefit was that both trainers have a different and unique coaching style. The difference entailed learning in itself.

Darren VASS For me, the whole course has been deeply satisfying. I love the opportunity to learn some new models, techniques, etc. but the real value has been learning by doing and receiving feedback and observing my self in a safe, supportive environment. The environment has enabled me to listen, take some risks and to grow, which I undoubtedly have. Of course, Colin and Phil are highly skilled and experienced coaches – but what fascinates me the most is how vastly different their personal styles of training and coaching are. At first, I wasn’t sure how to take this – but now I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I gained something from you both and your differing approaches helped me gain a more rounded sense of my own coaching approach. Thank you for giving yourself ‘up’ so clearly and honestly.

Irina BONDARCHUK Good structure of the programme
Really in depth programme
Not commercially oriented like some others (companies)
I like the length of the programme – 5 months. It’s difficult to obtain new skills in less time.
Good, trustful people. Both in personal and professional aspects.
They are very different and supplement each other.
With high moral standards.

Jane BOYT A deep and profound learning experience which has equipped me to add value as a coach and has been a significant step in my professional development. Reflecting now on the courses I reviewed before choosing to train with Coaching Development, I realise the depth, rigour and professionalism that CD provides compared to other organisations. This is a result of the depth of experience and knowledge of the trainers; their true belief in our potential, and an extremely well-designed programme of learning. The quality of learning is exceptional. I wouldn’t only recommend Coaching Development to potential coaches but urge them to make it their choice. Exceptional. Phil and Colin bring diverse styles which add to the value of the course. The depth of their experience is remarkable. They have a deep respect for individual learning which creates a safe yet energising environment.

Joaquín RANDEZ My experience has been very positive from different perspectives. When I decided to come to London to attend this course, I really didn’t know how it would be. Now I am really glad to have taken that decision. The course is truly focussed on developing coaching skills, not in theoretical approach, which really works because I feel now I have developed some new skills. On the other hand I have learned a lot from people who have been very nice and professional. I have to say that this programme has been able to attract very valuable and professional people. Two different styles, but complementary. They conduct the programme very professionally and have a relaxing way to get the very best from people. They both were supportive all the time giving participants the protagonist role.

Liz CAVE A fantastic learning experience! Skills are learnt, tested, feedback given continually. The programme from start to finish is excellent. This programme leaves you in no doubt that you are developing your skill set. The structure of the programme keeps you on track to succeed. Great to have different styles. All very professional. Excellent.

Natasha HITA The programme itself gives you all the technical skills and teaching required to be a great Coach. What surprised and delighted me was the “experience” of the people within the course, be it other participants or the Coaching Development team, and the true like-mindedness, comradery, and safe environment, which helped to learn at my best. A once in a lifetime quality experience with the difference being having lasting, on-going friendships and connections. For me, a truly unique learning experience. The trainers bring together both visually and through exercises fantastic, energising training sessions. Different styles and approaches keep you alert and interested and the face to face contact valuable teaching time, as it allows for clarification and challenge and focussed attention.

Nathalie ANGULO I felt that flow and structure of the programme was very naturally addressing my needs as they were becoming evident to me. The fact that this is such a safe environment has allowed to accelerate tremendously my development and my learning which has been exponential through the programme. I have unlearned, learned and relearned a lot of things! I found the 2 styles of Trainers (Col and Phil) very useful to discover what my own style is. I feel very happy about the content (theory piece) and the practice balance – although I feel thirsty and hungry to learn more! But I am doing so in my own time: as an adult! The difference in style between Colin and Philip has been very useful to me and I am glad the programme is structured in that order. Somehow, Colin has taught me a very “pure” coaching approach – a bit like ballet, to use a dance metaphor. Phil’s style is different: it’s almost like he switches from contemporary to flamenco, from modern dance to salsa. And then he improvises – I think that difference in style has taught me to be both very rigorous about my coaching (this is, indeed, a very serious matter) and to allow myself pace for experiencing and trying things out, in a more spontaneous way. A perfect combination.

Pam Mc NEILL The whole programme has been extremely well thought through and efficiently executed. The number of hours devoted to practice and feedback, in a safe environment, has made this a very enriching experience. It is based on sound practical knowledge transferred in the training sessions, prior to each opportunity to practise. The complementary styles of the two Trainers made it a very rounded approach based on sound practical knowledge. The discussions and demonstrations really took me on an engaging, enlightening and enjoyable learning experience. The live demonstrations were very inspiring and showed how coaching can be adapted to one’s personality and style preferences.

Pat MAIER I looked at various coaching courses before finally deciding on this one. I chose this course because of the focus on developing me as a Coach and looking at what I do and feel as a Coach. The balance of theoretical input and practice was ideal. It is an experiential learning experience within a set of psychological perspectives. This has set me up now with the confidence of what it means to be and behave as a Coach. Excellent balance between theoretical input and experiential learning together with the support of my fellow students. The support, honesty and trust made this a very powerful learning experience. The Trainers were always respectful of our learning journey and I never felt belittled by my lack of experience. Thanks for an excellent course.

Patrick BARON Thoroughly thought out and cleverly designed. Oozes integrity. Very clear about what is included and what is not. Attracts high calibre participants, who are sane adults. Focus on being a Coach rather than what to do. Training based on the coaching competencies from the International Coaching Federation. 2 different individuals, who complement each other, have come up with a well-thought out programme and generate really competent Coaches. If you like Trainers who are experienced, know what they talk about, yet say they don’t know when they don’t and think about it; and are respectful of people, then you are in right company.

Paul GAPPER Very inclusive and enjoyable. Very well structured. I was rarely bored. Note: the only two things to change:
1. Put the flip charted timetables on the wall as soon as possible. Often they were either missing or relating to the timetable for the day before. It helps to see where we are.
2. Ethics section is too long. I would suggest stopping the role play which was confusing.
Both excellent.

Rachel RICHARDSON Extremely well designed to stretch and test the delegates in the manner that best fits the person being stretched. You get out of the course what you put in and more, much more as you learn not only from the Trainers and Mentors but from your fellow delegates as you practise and receive feedback. The structure and pace is fabulous for an adult like changing programme. Outstanding

Rachel SALISBURY An incredible learning experience which has pushed me beyond limit. Each day has been entirely useful, challenging at some level and appropriate. The course is designed in an order which addressed each question as it arose. I came to this course to become a Coach and not only am I coaching but I have also developed as a person, a leader, a friend. Self-development has been an unexpected side product to this course which has made me a better coach. Phil and Colin are clear, easy to follow, understand and are inspirational. Both incredibly professional at all times, patient and respectful. The seriousness to which they apply to teaching and training with us has allowed a very rich learning experience. Bother trainers have wicked sense of humour which has also allowed for much laughter as we all go through deep transformation as people. It is an honour to know them both and to have been part of their training programme. I will recommend them.

Rod IRELAND I could write volumes, but in the spirit of “less is more…” A journey of learning and self-discovery I never imagined when I arrived at the beginning. I know I am now a different Coach. Good transmission of learning concepts. Materials are helpful and not over-complex. Very good facilitation of exercises. But the greatest value was their rich and varied display of coaching mastery. Plus two guys who were warm approachable and easy to work with.

Soraya MOKARRAM I had a fantastic experience with CD. The content structure and style were perfect for me. At last a quality, mature, authentic course! It’s not just another course; I’ve acquired priceless tools and skills which are really special. I’m very grateful to have been a part of this. I think the Trainers are professional, authentic, intelligent, sensitive, friendly, approachable and inspiring. I thoroughly enjoyed being taught by them.

Steve BAILEY A remarkable learning experience, one that touches every facet of your life. I wish it had been available 30 years ago. I finish the course with a sense of confidence in my own abilities as a Coach, and the knowledge that it will be a lifelong journey of self-improvement. Watching the Trainers was an education in itself! Two very different styles, but both highly effective. It will certainly influence workshops that I run in the future.

Susie FUGLE A real journey in every sense, literally in miles and also within my self and with my coaching practice. I have a real sense of refinement. Coaching feedback was concise, clear and helpful. I could use the feedback to improve my coaching communication and skills. I had opportunities to put these into practice to improve my skills as a Coach. Colin and Phil put their heart and intention into taking the group on the journey to becoming mature, present and effective coaches. They used humour, openness, honesty and their vulnerability to demonstrate their skills.

Suzanne BRITTON Deeply experiential. It met absolutely my training needs and also opened up personal self-awareness which will help and support me personally and professionally and as a coach. The absolute authenticity shines through. I was recommended to your programme and your website and support staff showed me the authenticity I needed to persuade me to join this course. Well judged, observant, supportive.

Tim WRIGHT An exceptional programme of interactive learning, which from my experience over the years stands head and shoulders above anything else I have experienced. The thoughtfulness and care that has been given to the design of the programme manifests itself throughout the journey, even with the smallest and unexpected detail! A very high bar is set for the role model of the Master Coach. The contrast in styles but consistency in professionalism, belief in and care for the profession and obvious passion for the practicing and facilitating learning in the art of coaching is the cornerstone of this unique programme.

Valerie CHEONG TOOK I am a visual person and having a course with practical coaching sessions, coaching demos as well as official observations were valuable to me in my learning. The design of the course allows you to learn at your pace, in your own way and provides a framework that gives me the “space” needed for me to grow as an individual and as a professional Coach. I value the fact that the “development/growth” of the individual is at the very centre of this programme. The Trainers were generous in sharing their experience and provided constructive feedback that I would use and integrate in my coaching style to improve my coaching skills.
