Applied TA in Coaching (ATIC)

New dates to be confirmed

Is this training for you?

How would it be if you were able to confidently work with the 'being' of your client, in addition to the topics they bring to coaching?  This training is all about the growth of your psychological-mindedness in the work that you do.  This is the essence of 'beyond technique' where you will learn to work below the surface at a much deeper level, facilitating effective and extra-ordinary change.

About Transactional Analysis

TA is a theory of human development, personality, and communication. It has concepts that can be learned and applied as tools for personal and professional growth and change. The underlying philosophy is one of mutual self-respect and caring and a belief in peoples’ ability to be responsible, think for themselves and make their own decisions.

Background

This training has been designed by Karen Pratt, based on her book, Transactional Analysis Coaching, Distinctive Features (Routledge 2021). This book serves as a succinct collection of TA frameworks most suited to inform coaches exploring the practical application of TA in coaching.

In order to participate, you are required to have read the first fifteen chapters in Part 1 of the book. Each chapter is short and carries the essence of each TA framework. This is a practical book to inspire you to be different in your way of being and doing coaching. In each chapter there are references for deeper reading about each of the frameworks, should that interest you. (Participants registering for this training receive a student discount on the book ordered directly from Routledge.)

As with all our trainings, there will be ample opportunity to apply the TA frameworks during practice sessions with each other, both in pairs and triads. Together, we will explore a wide range of TA approaches and their practical application in your work, enhancing your ability to work at deeper and more effective levels for yourself and with your clients.
