Community of Practice

Beginning 15th November 2025

Welcome to the Community of Practice

If you hold an ICF credential and need Continuing Coach Education units (CCEUs), then we have good news for you!

We are offering two Communities of Practice as a way of gaining CCEs. These are based on our highly successful Action Learning Sets (ALS) and will give you the chance to meet like-minded colleagues and share your coaching challenges and experiences.

One is online on 15th and 16th November (10 CCEs), and one is in person on 29th November (5 CCEs), in central London.

How does it work?

The online Community of Practice runs across two days and consists of four units. Each unit contains a webinar and a written review and is awarded 2CCs and .5 RD. Thus, completing the four units gives you 8 CCs and 2RDs. Here’s how it works:

  • In the webinars, each of you presents one case or ‘stuckness’ for discussion, and works with the group to define a solution. Each presentation with discussion lasts up to 20 minutes and should directly relate to or expand upon the ICF Core Competencies (CCs), thereby giving the opportunity to relate the CCs to any other theories and models as might be useful. There is an overall set agenda (relating coaching practice to the core competency framework and other appropriate models) and yet the topics which the group brings will be different from webinar to webinar.
  • Following the webinar, you have 48 hours to write and submit a one-page (450 word) summary of your learning about the application of the Core Competency framework to coaching.
  • Attendance at the webinar plus submission of the review completes the unit.

The in-person Community of Practice is one day long and consists of two units. Here's how it works:

  • In each of the units, each of you presents one case or ‘stuckness’ for discussion, and works with the group to define a solution. Each presentation with discussion lasts up to 20 minutes and should directly relate to or expand upon the ICF Core Competencies (CCs), thereby giving the opportunity to relate the CCs to any other theories and models as might be useful. Thus there is an overall set agenda (relating coaching practice to the core competency framework and other appropriate models) and yet the topics which the group brings will be different.
  • Following the presentations, you have 30 minutes to write and submit a one-page (450 word) summary of your learning about the application of the Core Competency framework to coaching.
  • Attendance at the session and submitting the summary completes each unit.
